Amazon eBook & Print-on-Demand

Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) platform allows self-published authors to reach an international audience while still retaining the control and rights to their book and sales.

Amazon Kindle (eBook)

An eBook is digital version of your book that can be quickly and easily purchased by customers and downloaded onto their eReader of choice. Because there are no printing and postage costs, the sale price of your eBook is lower, making it more enticing for a broader range of readers. Amazon Kindle makes your book globally accessible across Amazon’s international platforms.

Amazon Print-on-Demand (POD)

Amazon’s print-on-demand platform makes physical copies of your book available for purchase internationally, without having to worry about expensive international postage costs. When a customer purchases your book, Amazon will print their order at a printing facility in the international location closest to the customer, then post it directly to them.

Once your book is completely finalised and ready to publish, we can set up one or both of these services for you. We set up an Amazon KDP account on your behalf and upload the necessary files. For your eBook, we convert the book files into ePub or MOBI format (depending on the layout requirements of the book). For POD, we adjust your book files to meet Amazon’s unique print specifications. When your book goes live on Amazon, we will email you the purchase links and your login information and hand over account management to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I receive royalties from eBook and POD sales?

Amazon pays royalties directly to you using the payment information you nominate in your KDP account. You can learn more about Amazon KDP by visiting their online help centre.

How do I set my eBook price and what royalty will I receive?

Your base eBook price is in USD and should be cheaper than your print book price. All other territories’ prices will be converted from this base rate. We recommend you set your eBook price between $2.99 and $9.99, in order to be eligible for Amazon’s 70% royalty rate.

If you price your book lower than $2.99 or higher than $9.99, you will receive a 35% royalty rate. If you are unsure, research books similar to yours available on Kindle to see their current pricing. Our team will also be able to offer their advice based on your book’s genre, page count, and final specifications.

Where will my book be listed once uploaded to Amazon KDP?

Your eBook and/or paperback will be available to millions of customers on Amazon.com, as well as Amazon.ca; and on Amazon's European websites including Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.it, and Amazon.es.

Your eBook will also be available for purchase from Amazon.com.au.
