Book Cover Design
The cover of your book is your first impression. It is what potential readers will see when they find your book, whether it is on the shelf of a bookstore or on an online purchase listing.
As well as being a visual representation of what readers can expect from the book, your book cover needs to be attractive and engaging. After your front cover draws your reader in, your back cover blurb should intrigue them and make them want to purchase.
Our design team will work one-on-one with you to create a full cover design that is true to your book and will appeal to your target audience. Your input is crucial during the design process to ensure you are completely satisfied with the final look. We encourage you to share your ideas about images and fonts, and what colours and styles inspire you. If you are not sure, your cover designer can offer their suggestions and expert advice.
The cover design process works as a back-and-forth exchange between you and your cover designer until you’re happy with the result. The service includes design of the front, back, and spine of your book cover, ISBN barcode production, and back cover blurb editing. Our goal is to finish with a professional, modern cover that appeals to your target audience and connects with you.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if I don’t know how I want it to look?
That’s okay! The designer can offer their advice and ideas for you to consider. They will discuss with you the plot, characters, and overall themes and ideas you explore in your book.
We recommend that you look at some other book covers for inspiration. Search for books that share your genre or themes and save examples of ones that you like (or hate!) if you think it will help our designer get a clear picture of your preferences.
What images can I use?
You can use any image you have permission to use for commercial purposes, such as personal photos you have taken (like family photos or photography shots), images you have written permission to use (like images that friends or professionals have taken), public domain images, or stock photos with a commercial use licence purchased from a stock photo website.
