Children’s Book Illustrations

The key to a brilliant children’s picture book is not just an engaging story or engaging images but a carefully planned combination of the two.

Whether you have an exact idea of how you want your illustrations to look, or if you are still unsure, our team will be able to offer their advice and assistance. With a range of artwork styles to choose from, such as digital art, pen and ink, and watercolour, we will pair you up with the perfect artist for you.

Our team will work with you to create an illustration design brief that will outline what needs to be included in each image before your artist begins work. Sharing your ideas for the layout and illustrations will assist us to bring your story to life as you imagined it. We will discuss character and scene details, and help you collect any reference photos the artist will need to understand your vision.

When the design brief is ready and we have the perfect artist picked out for you, they will begin with some samples and sketches. This will give you an early idea of what to expect and ensure you are happy with the direction we are going before the artist finalises the sketches and then colours the designs. When all the illustrations are finalised, we are ready to pass them to the design team to complete the cover and internal design, where the artwork is combined with the text for the story.
